The Halls of Residence

There are six halls of residence on campus. William Thompson Hall has accommodation on 8 floors (a lift is available to floors 1-7). Sarah Witham Thompson Hall and Gressingham Hall are 2-storey blocks at the centre of the campus. Barbon Hall and Hornby Hall have been adapted from the original barracks buildings. They are both stone built and have accommodation on 2 floors. Waddell Hall is the most recently built hall of residence (1992), offering single rooms arranged in flats, for up to six people per flat, over 3 floors.

The bedrooms

Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, lamp, desk and easy chair. When you arrive, the bedroom will be clean and empty and ready for you to make into the kind of environment you like. There is also a wash hand basin in each bedroom, apart from in Waddell Hall.

The bathrooms

In William Thompson Hall, there are 2 bathrooms with shower and toilets per floor. Sarah Witham Thompson, Gressingham, Hornby and Barbon have bathroom, shower and toilet facilities on each floor and in Waddell, there is a bathroom, with a separate shower and two toilets per flat (7 people).

The kitchens

There are kitchen facilities on each floor of the halls of residence (in Waddell, there is a kitchen in each flat). You will find a kettle, toaster, iron, ironing board, fridge, microwave and cooker in each kitchen, so you don't need to worry about bringing lots of things from home.
